Guide for Authors

 

Submission Requirements

General

1. Contemporary Legal Studies Journal publishes scientific articles of contemporary legal matters in two issues per volume.

2. Publication process of the CLSJ complies with article 2(5) of the latest Directive on scientific journals. 

3. Authors should submit articles and follow up the review process via: https://law.tabrizu.ac.ir. Authors, therefore, should refrain from attachment of articles via Journal’s Email or sending the printed version of them to the Journal office.

4. According to article 7(1-15) of Directive on scientific journals, submitted article should comply with the aims and scope of the Journal.

5. Acceptable articles are those which have not been published in national or international journals. Simultaneous submission to several Journals is not allowed.

6. Submitted articles should be of original character, which represent a scientific achievement.

7. Manuscripts should be written in Persian language in a manner consistent with relevant instructions of Persian writing. For instance, utilization of foreign words instead of their Persian equals is not allowed.

8. Information including full name(s) of author(s), full address, Email address, affiliation, academic degree and contact number should be submitted in a separate document.

9. Addition, omission and even edition of information concerning author(s) are not allowed after submission of the article.

10. Author(s) is responsible for originality of the work as well as accuracy of citations used therein.

11. Corresponding author (with an asterisk next to his name) refers to one responsible to communicate with the Journal and to sign the letter on authenticity of the manuscript.

12. Manuscript can be withdrawn by the corresponding author at any time of submission process.

13. Copyright for the article will be transferred to the CLSJ for free if and when the article is accepted for publication.

14. Articles should be submitted in two versions, one with full information regarding author(s) and the other without such information.

15. Information with respect to author(s) should only be provided in the first page of article which includes title.

16. Preference is given over scientific work of professors. Articles written by undergraduate students or MSc students are not acceptable unless those written by cooperation of a professor. Publication of articles written by graduated Ph.D. students is possible.

17. CLSJ is free to reject, summarize and edit the title or content of articles.

18. Articles will be sent to reviewers if their overlap with published articles is less than %30, determined by Samim Noor system.

19. At least three reviewers in respective areas should review manuscripts.

20. Final comments of reviewers and decision of the editorial board are determinative factors on publication of manuscripts.

21. CLSJ publishes the articles in both electronic and printed versions.

22. Violation of publication ethics discovered at any stage of process even after publication will be dealt with according to relevant regulations.

 

Manuscript Structure

1. First page of the manuscript should include title, abstract, keywords, information of author(s) and affiliation, academic degree and email address.

2. Submitted articles should include an introduction which contains question of research, objectives, background information and outline of structure.

3. Headings should be numbered and inserted in a logical order.

 

Length

Articles should not exceed 10000 words, including title, footnotes, body text, abstract (not more than 300 words), conclusion, bibliography and keywords (5 to 7).

Style

Manuscripts should be submitted single-spaced prepared on Microsoft Word (version 2013 or later) with margins of 4.8 cm from left and right, 6.5 cm from the top and 6 cm from the bottom.

Citations

Citations, references, and sources should be fully set out in footnotes (not as endnotes or in-text citations). Regard is to be had to following examples.

Journal Article

Author(s)’ first Name, Last Name, “The title of the article”, Journal Title, issue’s number, (publication year), p. x.

Book

First Name, Last Name, The Title of the Book, Volume x, (Place: Publisher, 2020), p. xx.

Up to three authors is as above, four and more use first author’s information and et al.

 

Book Chapter

Last Name of author(s), First Name, “The title of chapter”, Editor(s)’s last name and first name, Title of the book, ( City: Publisher, Publication number, Publication year).

 

Thesis (PhD, MSc)

Last Name, The Title of the Thesis, University, Publication year.

Online Source

First Name, Last Name, The title of the online article, available at: <http://www.somereference.com>

Ibid. and op. cit. (Italic)

When a source is cited for the first time, the entire citation shall be referred in the footage as completely as possible. Thereafter cross-citation may be used:

− Ibid. should be used for a second footnote that is identical to the one directly above it. If the reference is the same, but to a different page number, then use: Surname, Ibid., p. x

A reference to an earlier footnote can be given with: Surname, op. cit., p. xx.

 

 

 

Bibliography

A Bibliography at the end of the manuscript should provide a list of sources in the same order cited in the text. Sources in Persian and Foreign Language should be written in different divisions.
